The left side of the room in the "Intertwined" installation is filled with a variety of my sculptures. I liked the space, old kitchen cabinets, and thought it would look good. I love the idea of classical sculpture and loved making the metal and felt sculptures. I think I will incorporate those little sculptures into my 4th year portfolio. Felt and metal blend together so well and its fun exploring the different ways they connect to each other.

The Installation is coming along. We have entitled it "Intertwined". It is part of a fund raiser for the Arts Council for the Central Okanagan. The Exhibition is called "Mad Hatter: Through the Looking Glass"
http://www.artsco.ca/madhatter.php
It consists of about 50 artists all doing different things. The opening is Friday, March 4th. My part of the room is almost done, I still have to position my balls and heads, right now they are just hung. The balls have magnets attached to them and the viewer will receive a wand, which also has a magnet on it, and they will be able to move or manipulate the balls.
Once the whole room is completed I will post it again.

Motel Installation
The first part of the installation went up today. I hung the balls only to realize I will probably need twice as many. It is starting to look interesting. I made about 30 balls so far and hung them with invisible thread. I still have to spray paint the hooks white.
Each ball has a magnet attached to the bottom. I made sticks with magnets on them and if the viewer takes a stick and places it close to the ball, it will hopefully resist. Sometimes it will stick and that sends the balls swirling. I also made felt attachments with magnets and the viewer can take these and move it around.
It isn't finished yet, as my room partner hasn't added her pieces yet. It should be really interesting. More to come.

VB Hat
I never got around to posting the picture of the second VB Studios hat I had made. Joshua wanted a green hat to match his ski jacket, a tight one he could wear under his helmet. I used Berroco Inca Gold for this and it is a wonderful mixture of merino and silk with a really high twist. The stocking stitch look almost like a twisted stitch. It was really nice.
